Plain terms for a site that publishes numbers.

What this site is

FightIQ publishes UFC statistics, fight history and predictions. It is information and research. A prediction here is a record of what a statistical model said about a fight, published before that fight happened and graded in public afterwards.

Nothing here is betting advice

We publish probabilities and analysis. We do not tell you what to bet, how much to bet, or whether to bet at all, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to place a wager. If you gamble, gamble responsibly, and only if you are 18 or over. Free, confidential help in the UK is at BeGambleAware.org.

A prediction is not a promise

A probability is not a guarantee. A fight we call at 70% is a fight we expect to get wrong about three times in ten, and saying so is not modesty — it is what the number means. How well the method has actually done is not a marketing line on this site; it is a table. Every graded call we have published is on the track record, wins and losses in the same list, sorted the same way.

Accuracy

The fight statistics come from the official UFC statistical record and other public sources, and we publish them as we find them. Sources contain errors, and so, sometimes, do we. When we find one we correct it and say what changed, rather than quietly editing a page. If you spot one, tell us: gordon@fightiq.win.

What you may do with it

The track record dataset — the graded picks table on /record and the CSV behind it — is published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Use it, quote it, re-analyse it, argue with it; credit FightIQ and link back. We publish it that way on purpose: a record you can check is worth more than a record you have to believe.

Everything else — the writing, the page designs, the derived metrics and the code behind them — is © Gordon Shepherd and is not licensed for reuse. Ask, and the answer is usually yes.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be available, complete, accurate or uninterrupted, and we are not liable for any loss arising from a decision you take because of something you read here. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
