Privacy notice

This is a short notice because there is very little to describe. FightIQ is a static website. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no comment box and no forms — there is nothing here for you to type into, so there is nothing you type that we could collect.
Who is responsible
FightIQ is run by Gordon Shepherd, trading as FightIQ, as part of the IQ Labs portfolio. He is the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR, and the person who answers if you write about anything on this page.
FightIQ is not an incorporated company, so there is no company number or registered office to quote here, and it is far too small to be required to appoint a data protection officer. We would rather say that plainly than list an address that does not exist.
What we collect: nothing
- We set no cookies. Not analytics cookies, not advertising cookies, not “strictly necessary” ones. This is why you have never seen a cookie banner here.
- We do not currently run analytics. No page-view counter, no beacon, no tag manager, no session recorder, no heatmap.
- No advertising or tracking scripts of any kind, from us or from anyone else.
- No accounts. There is nothing to log in to, so there is no profile of you to build.
- Nothing is written to your browser. No local storage, no session storage, no fingerprinting.
- No mailing list, because there is no form to join one with.
That word currently, in the second bullet, is doing real work. If we ever add a page counter — and we may, because a free site with no way of knowing whether anyone reads it is hard to justify spending on — this notice is updated on the same day, and that bullet is the one that changes.
Who does see you
One company, and it is the one serving you this page.
Cloudflare hosts and proxies FightIQ. To deliver a page to you and to keep the site up under attack, Cloudflare's network necessarily receives your IP address and the ordinary details of the request — which page, which browser, roughly when. That is a processing relationship, it is unavoidable for any website, and it is the entire list. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Cloudflare also produces aggregate traffic reporting for site operators from those same requests. We add nothing to it and it does not identify individual visitors.
There is no second name on this list. In particular, the typefaces this site uses are served from our own domain rather than from a font network, so loading a page here does not tell anyone else that you did.
Links that leave this site
We link out a great deal — to a fighter's own social account, to the news sources behind a story, to the official statistical record, and to the one commercial partner named in our footer. Following any of those takes you to somebody else's site, under somebody else's privacy policy, and this notice stops at our edge. We have no control over and no visibility into what happens after you click.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how it is processed, and to receive it in a portable form. In practice the honest answer to the first of those is none: we hold no personal data about visitors to this site. Write to gordon@fightiq.win and you will get an answer within one month.
If you are unhappy with how a request is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. You do not need our permission to do that and you do not have to come to us first.
Changes
When this notice changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. It is regenerated every time the site is rebuilt, so it is a fact about the version you are reading rather than a line somebody remembered to update.
