Ian Machado Garry's stock did not fall with his title-fight loss to Islam Makhachev, UFC analyst Michael Chiesa said.
"Ian Garry's stock to me still goes up. I don't think his stock goes down at all," Chiesa told MMA Junkie. "There are people that definitely had him picked to win, and he didn't fight a bad fight. But he could have fought better. But his stock still goes up."
Machado Garry lost a unanimous decision to Makhachev in their welterweight title fight at UFC 330 this month.
He is 17-2 overall and 10-2 in the UFC. Both of his professional losses have come in the promotion.
He entered UFC 330 at 17-1 and left it 17-2.
Makhachev is 29-1 overall and 18-1 in the UFC. He has one loss in 30 professional fights.
Chiesa is a retired welterweight who works as a UFC analyst and commentator.
Reporting after the fight noted Machado Garry was more competitive than many pundits and oddsmakers expected.
